The current project, which I've called 'Milneford', is to design a build a large model railway featuring my main interests. This revolves around the early 1960's era and so enables me to run a mixture of steam and early diesel and electric stock in my preferred livery of green or electric blue.

The layout will feature a Western Region line so that I can run my favourite diesel-hydraulics, a London Midland line electrified at 25kV to cater for early AC electrics and a London Transport line for the underground stock. So this really puts the location somewhere in North London or Home Counties. In addition, there will be a small industrial narrow gauge railway and by stretching the imagination a little bit, hopefully some trams and trolleybuses.

The layout will be DCC controlled with the help of a computer to run the main line services, allowing me to shunt in the goods yard or move loco's around the shed.

Milneford is a 'layout' that never leaves home, as it is built around a specific 'railway room', and in any case, is too large to do so.
