DS209 was a diesel shunter built by Secmafer of France in 1966. It was a 4wDH of SNCF Type 233.S.2. It was on loan to BR for evaluation trials  working mainly at Shalford Engineers' Yard and Woking Engineers' Yard (Up Side) on shunting and on site track work between 1966 and 1967. It later moved to Theale (WR) in 1967 and was returned to France in 1968.

It was referred to as DS209 in SR notices, but this was not an SR number and it did not carry a number.
