Bagnall 'Polar Bear' 2-4-0T

W. G. Bagnall of Stafford were well known for a number of narrow gauge industrial type steam engines. However, Bagnall built two locomotives for the Groudle Glen Railway on the Isle of Man. 'Polar Bear' is the second, slightly larger locomotive, built in 1905. Although the railway closed in 1962, 'Polar Bear' survived into preservation and is currently at the Amberley Museum Railway.

An appealing little locomotive, I quite fancied building one and found that 2A Models produce a 3D printed body available via Shapeways. Printed in Frosted Ultra Detail, it is designed to fit on a modified Tsugawa Yokou TU-KOPPEL A chassis available from Plaza Japan. The modification is to turn an 0-4-0 chassis into a 2-4-0 chassis by adding a front pony truck.

The model is currently in a queue in my workshop and construction will start shortly.
