56, Ruston & Hornsby 88DS 4wDM 56 was a 88DS type diesel shunter new in 1955. It initially worked at Hull Chalk Lane PW Yard before spending spells at Darlington and Etherley Tip before being finally moved to Thornaby. It was withdrawn in 1970. It was scrapped ten years later in 1980. Not sure what type it was, but sources suggest a Ruston & Hornsby 88DS.
